Akitsu aims to express a sense of
fragility and tension by making thin pieces. The chance distortions from this process subconsciously evoke Yayoi earthenware's simple, poetic, and emotionally warm forms.
Akitsu's kaleidoscopic works celebrate spontaneity in our decision-making. Colors are applied subconsciously, wishing the finalschema will inspire future users to access the dormant possibilities of their own lives.
An exhibition dedicated to Kaléidoscope pieces is currently taking place at Bruleie Moka
The glaze patterns on Akitsu's pieces give a physical form to her belief that "fate" is eternally alive as both chance and consequence.
